THE OPPORTUNITY

Nice & smart UX has little impact without the right backbone that makes it reliable and fast. Thus, our great development team looks for you, an experienced cloud-native backend development person (f/m/d) to take a leading role in developing core technology for our products.

Ideally, you’ve collected several years of experience designing and delivering well-crafted, tested, and developer-friendly services and APIs on a daily basis – Ideally, including creating proper deployment automation. If you like to leverage cloud services and actively avoid running own containers, you’re a great match.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

​

• Develop, maintain, and improve backends for mobile and web apps and write beautiful, elegant, easy to maintain, and understandable code

• Design services, APIs, and entire systems and how they work together reliably without manual toil

• Evaluate technologies and pick the right tools for the tasks at hand

• Debate, discuss, and decide on the systems architecture

• Documenting and describing your decisions in tests, diagrams, and comments

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features

• Ensure operability of systems and robustness of code, e.g., by test automation, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability

 

WHAT YOU BRING

​

• Excellent skills and lots of experience with stacks like Node, Java, Kotlin, or Python

• Solid knowledge of API design for reliability and security

• Proven experience with cloud-native design patterns to leverage cloud services for e.g., databases, messaging, lambdas, authentication & authorization

• Professional experience with test automation, writing meaningful (unit) tests, and modern tools for CI/CD

• Awesome communication skills with software professionals and product people

• Nice: Good understanding and experience with current security and data protection approaches in cloud services

• Comfortable initiating and driving complex technical decisions, including all necessary communication

• Very good English for collaboration, but also for creating documentation, diagrams, and easily understandable code
